CHAPTER 419.
AN ACT to authorise William Doherty, a native of
Ireland, to hold and transmit certain real estate in
the
city of Baltimore.

Authority to
hold real
estate.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Doherty, a native of Ireland,
now residing in the city of Baltimore, in this State,
be, and he is hereby authorised and empowered to
have, hold and possess any real estate or lease-hold
property in said city, which he has heretofore acquired,
or in which he has an interest, to him, his heirs, executors
or administrators, and to sell and dispose of the
same in the same manner and to as full extent as if he,
the said William Doherty, were a citizen of the United
States of America, the said William Doherty having
declared his intention to become a citizen.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 420.
AN ACT to pay Augustus R. Sollers, for services rendered
the State, in the case of the State against
Thomas C. Worthington, of Prince George's county,
indicted for murder.
|

pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer is authorised and
directed, to pay, upon the warrant of the Comptroller,
to Augustus R. Sollers, of Calvert County, the sum of
four hundred and fifty dollars, for services rendered the
State, in the case of the State against Thomas C.
Worthington, charged with the crime of murder, and
tried before the circuit court of Anne Arundel county.

That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
