588                                        LAWS OF MARYLAND.
     Authority to
make a division.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the school commissioners of Frederick
county, be, and the same are hereby authorised, in
their discretion, at their first regular meeting after the
passage of this act, to make a division of school district
number sixteen, into two school districts by the following
metes and bounds:  beginning on the east at Kartsdafner's
mill dam, on the big Catoctin, thence running
with the county road to the little Catoctin, thence running
with the little Catoctin to the Berlin road, the
southern district so laid out to be known as school
district number sixteen; the northern district to be
numbered by the said school commissioners.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That as soon as the
division of the said school district shall have been
effected, the trustees of the same are hereby empowered
with authority to sell the present school property, and
to divide the proceeds thereof between the two districts
so created.

                           CHAPTER 409.

AN ACT requiring new bonds to be given by the clerk
     of the court of common pleas in Baltimore city; by
     the clerk of the Superior court of Baltimore city, and
     by the Register of Wills of Baltimore city.

     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the clerk of the court of common
pleas in Baltimore city shall, within thirty days after
the passage of this act, file with the comptroller a bond
to the State of Maryland, in the sum of fifty thousand
dollars, conditioned for the faithful performance of all
the duties now required of him by law, or which hereafter
may be required of him by law, with sufficient
securities, the sufficiency of which securities shall be
certified to by the judge of the court of common pleas
for the city of Baltimore, the same to be approved by
the comptroller, and when approved by him to be
filed in his office.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the clerk of the
superior court of Baltimore city, shall, within the time
prescribed in the preceding section, give a bond to the
State of Maryland in the sum of thirty thousand dollars,
