CHAPTER 390.
AN ACT to refund to Francis Morris and Richard
France, survivors of George Cook, a sum of money
therein mentioned.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer of this State be and
he is hereby required to pay, upon the warrant of the
Comptroller, to Francis Morris and Richard France,
survivors of George Cook, the sum of fourteen thousand
dollars, being the amount over paid by them for
licenses for the sale of lottery tickets in the year ended
the first day of December, eighteen hundred and fifty-two.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the sum of fourteen
thousand dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated
for the purpose mentioned in the first section of
this act.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
|

CHAPTER 391.
AN ACT to provide for the removal of cases from the
Superior Court of Baltimore city, as a Court of Equity,
to the Circuit Court for Baltimore city.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That on the application in writing of
either of any of the parties to any cause which shall be
pending in the superior court of Baltimore city, as a
court of equity, at the time of the qualification of the
judge of the circuit court for Baltimore city, it shall and
may be lawful for the judge of the said superior court,
to order and direct the papers and proceedings in the
said cause to be removed into the said circuit court for
Baltimore city, and after such removal the said cause
shall be proceeded in, in the same manner as if the
same had originated in the said circuit court for Baltimore
city.
