CHAPTER 388.
AN ACT to refund to the Reverend Richard Brown, of
Anne Arundel county, certain State taxes erroneously
paid by him.

Authority to
pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer is hereby authorised
and directed to pay, upon the warrant of the Comptroller,
to the Reverend Richard Brown, of Anne Arundel
county, twenty-one dollars and sixty cents, being
the amount of State taxes erroneously paid by him in
the years eighteen hundred and forty-one, eighteen hundred
and forty-two, eighteen hundred and forty-three,
eighteen hundred and forty-four and eighteen hundred
and forty-five, for one hundred acres of land more than
he possessed or owned.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
|

CHAPTER 389.
AN ACT to refund to John B. Morris, agent of Lydia
E. Hollingsworth, certain State taxes erroneously paid
by him.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, it is represented that
John B. Morris, of
the city of Baltimore, agent of Lydia E. Hollingsworth,
has paid in error State taxes to the amount of one hundred
and twenty-seven dollars, and the same does appear
from the books of the collector of taxes for the city
of Baltimore; Therefore,

pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby
directed, to pay, on the warrant of the Comptroller, to
the said John B. Morris, as agent for Lydia E. Hollingsworth,
the sum of one hundred and twenty-seven
dollars, it being the amount erroneoulsy paid by him.
