SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June eighteen
hundred and fifty-three.

CHAPTER 386.
AN ACT to authorise and require the county Commissioners
of Prince George's county to levy a sum of
money sufficient to defray the expenses incurred in
the trial of the case of Townshend and Townshend in
the Circuit Court of Anne Arundel county, and to
authorise the appointment of arbitrators to settle and
adjust the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of Prince
George's county, be, and they are hereby authorised
and required to levy upon the assessable property of said
county a sufficient sum of money to defray the costs and
expenses occasioned by the removal and trial of the case
of Townshend and Townshend, at the April term of the
circuit court for Anne Arundel county, in the year
eighteen hundred and fifty-one, except such costs as
are chargeable to the parties to said proceedings, the
amount of which costs and expenses shall be ascertained
by arbitrators to be appointed as hereinafter provided,
by the county commissioners of Prince George's
and Anne Arundel counties, and said sum so ascertained
as aforesaid, when collected shall be paid over by
the county commissioners of Prince George's county to
the county commissioners of Anne Arundel county, or
to their order.

Appointment
of arbitrators.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the county commissioners
of Prince George's and Anne Arundel
counties, shall each, at their next meeting, immediately
after they shall have notice of the passage of this act,
appoint one of said arbitrators, and in the event of a
disagreement between said arbitrators so appointed, they
shall select a third person to act in conjunction with
them, and the sum so ascertained by said arbitrators, or
any two of them, shall be final and conclusive.

effect from the date of the passage of this act.
