CHAPTER 365.
AN ACT for the relief of the securities of Elisha Howard,
formerly Collector of Frederick county.

Sureties.
Proviso.
|
Be it enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland,
That the sureties on the official bonds of Elisha
Howard, collector of Frederick county, for the years
eighteen hundred and forty-six and eighteen hundred
and forty-seven, be released from all liability to the
State, as sureties on said bonds, upon payment by them
into the treasury of this State, on or before the first day
of August, eighteen hundred and fifty-three, of the
balance of principal of the taxes of eighteen hundred
and forty-six, due on the thirty-first day of May, eighteen
hundred and forty-nine, to and upon payment by
them into the treasury of this State, on or before said
first day of August, eighteen hundred and fifty-three,
of the balance of principal of the taxes of eighteen hundred
and forty-seven , due on the sixteenth of June,
eighteen hundred and fifty-one; And provided, that said
sureties shall also pay into the treasury of this State, on
or before the first day of August, eighteen hundred and
fifty-three, the additional sum of two thousand dollars,
being the liquidated amount of the interest received or
hereafter to be received, on account of outstanding
taxes.
