" David's Purchase," for the purpose of having erected
thereon a house of worship, and for a burying ground;
And whereas, the members of said Dunker Society,
by their petition to this General Assembly, express their
desire to sell and dispose of the said acre of land, excepting
the enclosed grave yard on the said land, and
that the proceeds such sale shall be applied to the
erection of another house of worship elsewhere, for
the benefit of the same society of christians, and that
Emanuel Slifer should be empowered to make such
sale for said purposes exclusively.

     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That Emanuel Slifer be and he is hereby
authorised and empowered to sell, dispose of and
convey in fee simple, the said piece or parcel of land
above mentioned, excepting the enclosed grave yard
of said land; Provided, that the consideration money,
after the necessary expenses are deducted in effecting
the sale of said land, shall be appropriated by him to
the erection of another house of worship for the same
denomination of christians, and for their exclusive use
and benefit.
     Authority to
sell.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

                           CHAPTER 329.

AN ACT to regulate the meetings of the County Commissioners
     of Allegany county, and to fix the compensation
     of said Commissioners.

28, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the regular meetings of the county
commissioners of Allegany county shall be as follows:
on the first Monday of January, first Monday of April,
first Monday of July, and first Monday of October, in
each and every year.
     Regular
meetings.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the said county
commissioners shall have power and authority to call a
special meeting whenever they, or a majority of them,
think the public interest requires such meeting, by
giving at least twenty days notice in the newspapers of
the county.
