     SEC. 6.  And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said company shall be deemed personal property, and
that the shares of said stock may be transferred on the
books of said company, in such manner as its by-laws
may direct, and when the said company shall be organised
the amount due upon the subscriptions to its
capital stock shall be paid in instalments, at such times
as the president and directors may require the same to
be paid, they giving at least thirty days notice of the
demand of any instalment in at least one paper published
in the county, and in default of payment of any
instalment the president and directors may offer at
public sale, so many of the shares in default as may be
sufficient to discharge the sum then due on the same,
and the purchaser thereof shall hold the same subject
to the same regulations and with the same rights, as if
they had been originally subscribed by him.

     SEC. 7.  And be it enacted, That the president and
directors of said company shall be, and they are hereby
invested with all the rights and powers necessary for
building a bridge over the Bohemia river at or near the
ferry, together with wharf and warehouses and servants
tenements; the said bridge to be substantially built,
and to have at least sixteen feet clear width between
the parapets, with a draw at the channel at least thirty-five
feet wide; the said bridge to be kept at all times
in good repair, and the said company shall allow the
passage of all vessels through the draw free of any
expense, and shall at all times keep sufficient force to
open said draw, so as not in any manner to obstruct the
navigation of said river.

     SEC. 8.  And be it enacted, That this act be a
public act, and the said bridge and other improvements
therein contemplated, shall be deemed public works,
and all persons or any person or persons who shall in
any wise damage or injure the same, shall be liable to
be proceeded against and punished in like manner as if
the injury or damage had been done to any other public
work; and it shall and may be lawful for the said
company to ask and receive of all persons before they
shall be entitled to pass over said bridge, such rates of
tolls as the president and directors of said company
may fix upon; Provided, such tolls do not exceed the
rates now charged for passing said ferry; and the company
shall cause a list of tolls to be placed in a conspicuous
place on the bridge, and any agent or servant
of the company charging more than those rates shall be
liable to be fined for each and every offence at the discretion
of the magistrate, not less than five nor more
