CHAPTER 310.
AN ACT to unite a portion of Primary School District
number six in Caroline County, and Primary School
District number one in Queen Anne's County.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, a portion
of school district number six
of Caroline county was divided from said district by
commissioners appointed under an act passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and forty-five; And
whereas, the inhabitants of said portion so divided from
said district wish to be united with primary school district
number one of Queen Anne's county, so as to
provide for the education of their children; Therefore,

School district
to be
united.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the portion of school district number
six of Caroline county, which has been cut off
from said district in pursuance of the act of December
session eighteen hundred and forty-five, shall be united
with primary school district number one of Queen
Anne's county.

Taxes levied.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the same taxes
that are levied on other school districts of Caroline
county, shall be levied on the taxable property of that
part of said district which is to be added to the first
primary school district of Queen Anne's county; and
when collected shall be applied to the support of the
school in said district.

Inhabitants
entitled to
funds.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That the inhabitants of
the part of district number six, in Caroline county,
now to be added to school district number one of
Queen Anne's county, shall be entitled to a fair and
equitable proportion of the school funds of Caroline
county, and shall apply the same to the support of the
school in district number one of Queen Anne's county,
in the same manner as the school funds are applied to
the support of schools in Caroline county.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
