                           CHAPTER 307.

AN ACT to authorise the County Commissioners of
     Frederick County, in their discretion, to levy a sum of
     money to build a bridge over Catoctin Creek, on the
     public road leading from Myersville to Smithsburg.
     Authority to
levy.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the county commissioners of Frederick
county, be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, in their discretion, to levy a sum of money,
not exceeding twelve hundred dollars on the assessable
property in said county, to be paid in two equal annual
instalments, for the purpose of building a bridge over
Catoctin creek on the public road leading from Myersville
to Smithsburg, near Josiah Mealy's mill.
     Contract to
build bridge.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the county commissioners
aforesaid, be and they are hereby authorised
to contract with any person or persons to build said
bridge, and are required to take bond or bonds with sufficient
security from any contractor or contractors, for
the faithful performance of his or their contracts in the
usual form.
In force.
     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.

                           CHAPTER 308.

AN ACT to make valid a deed from Jesse L. Long and
     Mary J. his wife, of Sussex county, Delaware, to
     Elizabeth Hall, of Worcester county, Maryland.
Preamble.
     WHEREAS, Jesse L. Long and Mary J. his wife, of
Sussex county, in the State of Delaware, by their deed
dated on the thirtieth day of November, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two, have
conveyed to Elizabeth Hall, of Worcester county, in
the State of Maryland, all their right, title and interest,
in a certain lot of land in Worcester county, adjoining
the village of New Town, which said lands are described
in said deed; And whereas, the acknowledgment to
said deed was made in the State of Delaware, and is
defective, because it was not made before a party properly
