of the clear profits and income thereof, not exceeding
ten per cent., among the stockholders, which
dividend shall be declared half yearly, in the month of
January and July, and published and paid accordingly.
     Tolls—from
whom not to
be demanded.
     SEC. 18.  And be it enacted, That it shall not be
lawful for said company to ask, demand or receive toll
of or from any person or persons, going to or returning
from church or a funeral, or from any person or persons,
within the lines of whose lands any gates may be
erected for passing from one part to another part of said
land along said road.
     County commissioners
authorised to
subscribe.
     SEC. 19.  And be it enacted, That the county commissioners
of Frederick county, be, and they are hereby
authorised and empowered to subscribe for as many
shares in the capital stock of said company as in their
judgment they may deem advisable, the said subscriptions
not to exceed fifty shares.
     Banking forbid.
     SEC. 20.  And be it enacted, That nothing in this
act shall be so construed as to allow said company to
issue any note, token, scrip, certificate or other evidence
of debt to be used as a currency.
Reservation.



In force.
     SEC. 21.  And be it enacted, That this act of incorporation
shall continue in force for fifty years, and that
the General Assembly hereby reserves the right to alter,
amend or repeal this act at pleasure; and that it shall
take effect after the passage thereof.

                           CHAPTER 305.

AN ACT providing for an equal distribution among the
     Dispensaries of the City of Baltimore, of the fines imposed
     in said City for keeping Houses of ill-fame.
     Fines to be
divided.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the amount of all fines hereafter
imposed by the criminal court of Baltimore city, on
persons convicted of keeping houses of ill-fame, shall
be divided equally between such dispensaries of the
city of Baltimore, as shall have had under their charge
during the year preceding, at least fifteen hundred
patients.
Repealed.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That all acts conflicting
with this act in so far as they so conflict, be and the
same are hereby repealed.
