     SEC. 7.  And be it enacted, That the Legislature
reserves to itself the right to alter or repeal this act at
pleasure.
Reservation.
     SEC. 8.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

                           CHAPTER 291.

AN ACT to authorise the sale of Evans' Meeting House
                        in Baltimore county.

26, 1853.
     WHEREAS, It is represented to the General Assembly
of Maryland, by the trustees of Evans' Meeting
House in Baltimore county, that he same has been
abandoned as a place of public worship for several years
past, and in consequence fast falling into a condition
of dilapidation and decay, and that in consequence
thereof, the said trustees acting in conjunction with the
other competent authorities of the Methodist Society
having the charge of said meeting house, have determined
that it would be for the interest of all concerned
in said property, to make sale of the same, and apply
the proceeds to the repair or rebuilding of a parsonage
house within the same circuit, and in pursuance of said
determination have agreed with Augustus W. Bradford
of said county, to sell to him said meeting house with
the ground belonging thereto for a fair and full price
subject to the confirmation by the Legislature of said
proceeding; Therefore,
Preamble.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That Elijah Taylor, Joseph Merryman,
Samuel Brady, Christopher Hall, John Burnes, William
Broadbent and Oliver P. Merryman, who constitute
the present board of trustees of the property in Baltimore
county, aforesaid, known as Evans' meeting
house, and their successors, be, and they are hereby
fully authorised and empowered to sell to said Augustus
W. Bradford the property aforesaid, being the same
land mentioned in a deed from a certain Daniel Evans
to John Kelso and others, trustees as therein mentioned,
bearing date the thirteenth day of February, eighteen
hundred and twenty-four, duly acknowledged and recorded,
together with all the improvements thereon, and
on the receipt of the whole purchase money to convey

sell.
