of the school fund for said county, and he is hereby
authorised to receipt for all money that is now applicable
or that may hereafter be made applicable by law,
to the common schools of Saint Mary's county, and for
the safe keeping of which he shall give bond to the
State of Maryland, in the sum of five thousand dollars,
to be approved of by the orphans' court of said county,
and recorded in the office of the clerk of the circuit
court of said county; and said treasurer of the school
fund of Saint Mary's county, is hereby authorised and
required to pay all orders, of the school commissioners
of said county which shall be signed by the president
and a majority of the board of school commissioners;
and said treasurer shall be entitled to receive for his services
as such, the sum of fifty dollars annually.

     SEC. 5.  And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of the
State is hereby authorised to pay, on the warrant of the
Comptroller, annually to said treasurer of the school
fund of Saint Mary's county, such proportion of the
school fund as said county may be entitled to receive.

     SEC. 6.  And be it enacted, That the school commissioners
of SAint Mary's county, are hereby required
to number each school district in said county, and to
draw all orders upon the treasurer of the school fund for
the payment of money, and to keep an accurate account,
showing the particular items of expense in each
school district of said county; and the said commissioners
shall, at the end of each year, publish in the
newspapers of said county, a full account of the same,
with a statement of any balance which may remain
unappropriated.

     SEC. 7.  And be it enacted, That the board of school
commissioners shall at their first regular meeting appoint,
from among the citizens of each school district,
five discreet persons, who shall constitute a board of
trustees for their particular school districts, who shall
serve for two years from the date of their appointment,
or until their successors shall have been appointed; and
it shall be the duty of said trustees of the several school
districts, as soon after their appointment as possible, to
revise and describe by boundaries, their respective districts,
and make a written report of the same to the
school commissioners of the county, who shall deliver
the same to the clerk of the circuit court, and by him
recorded in a suitable book kept for that purpose.

     SEC. 8.  And be it enacted, That a majority of said
trustees shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of
business; and in case of a vacancy in the board of trustees,
the school commissioners of the county shall fill
Quorum.
