aforesaid, it shall be deemed and taken as a public
road, and kept in repair at the expense of the county.

     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That this act shall have
effect from the date of its passage.



                           CHAPTER 277.

AN ACT granting leave to carry into effect the bequest
     or devise in the Will of Sally Jones, deceased.

25, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the leave of the Legislature is
hereby given, to the carrying into effect of the bequest
or devise, in the will of Sally Jones, late of Worcester
county, deceased, in favor of the rector, church-wardens
and vestrymen of Coventry parish, in Somerset and
Worcester counties, for the uses therein expressed.
Leave given.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
In force.


                           CHAPTER 278.

AN ACT to extend the time of the Assessors of Montgomery
             county, to complete the assessment.



     Passed May
25, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the time of the assessors appointed
by the act of eighteen hundred and fifty-two, chapter
three hundred and thirty-seven, to value and assess the
property of Montgomery county, be, and the same is
hereby extended until the first Monday in June, eighteen
hundred and fifty-three, and that the time of the
county commissioners of said county, for hearing appeals
and examining the returns of said assessment, be,
and the same is hereby extended to the thirtieth day of
July, eighteen hundred and fifty-three.
Time extended.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of Montgomery county may, in their discretion, postpone
the time of making the annual levy for State and
Annual levy.
