CHAPTER 267.
AN ACT amendatory of the act entitled, an act to make
valid certain devises and bequests in the last will and
testament of Thomas Mains, late of Washington
county, deceased, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and forty-nine, chapter three hundred
and sixty-nine.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, The Most Reverend Francis
Patrick
Kenrick, the present Roman Catholic Archbishop of
Baltimore, hath by his petition to this General Assembly
set forth, that the Most Reverend Samuel Eccleston,
his predecessor in office, hath departed this life
without having fully executed the authority conferred
by the original act, of which this is amendatory, and
hath asked a continuation of the same power in himself;
Therefore,

Authority to
sue.
|
Be it enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland,
That the said Francis Patrick Kenrick be, and
he is hereby authorised and empowered, in his own
name, to sue for and recover, and to take and receive,
and also, to sell and dispose of all the estate, devised
by the said Thomas Mains, to the use of the said church,
which was not sold and conveyed by the said Samuel
Eccleston in his life time; and also, to execute, carry
out and perform any contract for the sale of any part
thereof made by the said Samuel Eccleston and not
fully completed.

CHAPTER 268.
AN ACT amendatory to an act passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and forty-seven, chapter
one hundred and seventy-three, incorporating the Weverton
and Boonsboro' Turnpike Company.

Time extended.
|
SECTION. 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the time for making and completion
of the road authorised to be made in and by the
act passed at the December session, eighteen hundred
and forty-seven, chapter one hundred and seventy-three,
which by the fifth section of the said act is limited to
