shall in no wise be answerable or liable therefor
in
their individual capacities, or private estates, and the
service of any judicial process upon the president or
any one of the directors, shall be a sufficient service
upon the corporation.

Reservation.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted,
That nothing in this
act shall be so construed as to authorise the said corporation
to issue any note, token scrip or other evidence
of debt, to be used as currency; and the Legislature
hereby reserves the right to alter, amend or repeal this
act at pleasure.

In force.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 235.
AN ACT to authorise the commissioners of St. Mary's
county, to cause to be laid off and condemned, a public
landing on the Patuxent river, at the terminus of
the public road leading to a point on said river commonly
known as the Queen Tree landing.

Authority
to
appoint commissioners.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of St.
Mary's county are hereby authorised, if they deem the
same necessary for public convenience, to appoint three
discreet and sensible men as commissioners who shall
be, and they are hereby empowered to lay off and condemn
a lot of ground for a public landing, not exceeding
one-half acre on the Patuxent river, at the river
terminus of the public road leading to a point on said
river known as the Queen tree landing, and the said
commissioners or a majority of them shall value the
land which they may locate, and shall cause the same
to be surveyed and a plat thereof, and the valuation and
condemnation of the land as aforesaid, together with
the expenses attending the execution of this act shall
be returned in a report to the county commissioners.

Right of appeal.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That any party interested
as also the county authorities, make take an appeal
to the next circuit court, after the return of the report
of said commissioners, and tin the trial of the appeal
|
