transportation at reasonable and convenient times, of
all merchandise, produce and property, which may be
offered for transportation along said road, and motive
power and carriages, for cars for the convenient transportation
of all persons who may require to be transported
along said road; and the said company shall be
authorised to charge for transportation as aforesaid, in
addition to the tolls allowed by the original act incorporating
said company, not exceeding one cent per ton
per mile for the transportation of merchandise, produce
and property, and one cent per mile for each passenger
transported as aforesaid; And, provided also, that the
said company shall supply a sufficient number of cars
or carriages for the transportation at times, reasonable
and convenient for all merchandise, produce, property
other than spirituous liquors, which shall be offered in
parcels not exceeding one thousand pounds in weight,
for transportation along said road, and that the charge
for transportation of any such parcel along said road,
shall not in any case exceed ten cents.

     SEC. 6.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
In force.
     SEC. 7.  And be it enacted, That the Legislature
reserves to itself the right to alter, amend or repeal this
act at pleasure.

                                   CHAPTER 26.

AN ADDITIONAL supplement to the act entitled,
     an act incorporating the Master and Wardens of
     Chester Lodge number eighty-three, of the Free and
     Accepted Masons, for the purposes therein mentioned,
     passed at December session, eighteen hundred
     and twenty-five, chapter one hundred and forty-three.

24, 1853.
     WHEREAS, By the supplement to said original act,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-nine, chapter one hundred and seventy-eight,
provision was made for the election of a president and
five directors who, when elected, were authorised to make
such by-laws and regulations in respect to future elections,
and also for the management of the stock as they
should see fit, and who were also directed to issue certificates
for shares; and whereas it is represented by Ezekiel
Preamble.
