works, and to the enlargement of which the proceeds
of the lottery and the rents or tolls of the water works
were pledged by the second section of the act passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and forty-five,
chapter six.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the proceeds of
said lottery and the net rents or tolls of said water
works, be and the same are hereby pledged and appropriated
for the payment of the interest and the re-imbursement
of the principal of whatsoever debt, whether
now existing or hereafter incurred, that may be due or
owing by said corporation on account of said water
works, and that said rents or tolls shall be exacted and
maintained at the present rates until said debt shall be
extinguished.

     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force from its passage.

                           CHAPTER 188.

AN ACT to authorise the construction of a branch to
     the Liberty and Franklin Plank or Turnpike road, from
     Jamison's Mills to the Reisterstown Road.



     Passed May
11, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the Liberty and Franklin Plank
or Turnpike road company, be and they are hereby
authorised to construct a branch of said road from the
Powder mills on Gwinn's Falls, following the said falls
so far as the same be found advantageous to Howard's
mill road, thence to the Reisterstown road, striking the
same at or about Pikesville.
     Authority to
construct
branch.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That all the rights and
privileges conferred upon the said company by its charter,
in relation to tolls and the right of way upon its
main line of road, are hereby secured to the branch
hereby authorised, and all the duties and obligations
imposed by the said charter upon the said company,
in relation to the rights of land owners, through whose
property the said road may pass, and to the character of
said road, are hereby in like manner imposed upon the
said company, in relation to the branch hereby authorised.
