him to summon twenty-five persons qualified to
serve as jurors to attend the said court as petit jurors at
its January and July term then next ensuing.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect immediately and be in operation one year only
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 173.
AN ACT to fix the compensation of the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County.

Per diem and
mileage.
Proviso.
|
SECTION 1. Be
it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That from and after the passage of this
act, that the county commissioners for Baltimore county,
shall each be entitled to receive three dollars per day
for the time he shall necessarily attend to the duties of
his office, and five cents per mile mileage for going to
and returning from each session of the said board of commissioners,
over and above ten miles of the distance
from his or their residence to the place of holding the
meetings of said board of commissioners; Provided,
however, that mileage shall not be allowed more than
once for a protracted session of two or more consecutive
days.

Repealed.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That all that part of the
eighth section of the act passed at December session
eighteen hundred and twenty-six, chapter two hundred
and seventeen, entitled, an act to provide for electing
commissioners for Baltimore county, and prescribing
their powers and duties as relates to and fixed the compensation
to be allowed to said county commissioners,
be and the same is hereby repealed.

effect from the day of its passage.
