Proviso.
the sheriff to his regular fees as for similar services;
Provided always, that no timber shall be cut on any
land other than the bed of the rail road, by order of the
said rail road company, or taken by them for the use of
the said road without the consent of the owners.
     Lawful to
hold tri-ennial
meetings.
     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful
to hold the tri-ennial meetings for the election of officers
at such place as shall be designated in the by-laws passed
at meetings of the stockholders.
Reservation.
     SEC. 4.  And be it enacted, That the Legislature
reserves to itself the right to alter or repeal this act at
pleasure.

                           CHAPTER 171.

AN ACT to provide for repairing the Bridge over the
     Patuxent river, at or near the village of Queen Ann,
     in Prince George's County.
     Commissioners
appointed.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That James R. Davis and Henry Jones,
of Prince George's county, Samuel Dorsett and Edward
Harvey, of Anne Arundel county, be, and they
are hereby appointed commissioners and they or a majority
of them, are hereby authorised and empowered as
soon as may be convenient to cause the bridge over the
Patuxent river, at or near the village of Queen Ann, in
Prince George's county, to be repaired with good
and sound materials, and in the most substantial manner,
and they or a majority of them, are hereby fully
authorised and empowered, to agree with a contractor or
contractors for repairing said bridge, which repairs shall
be done under the immediate direction and superintendance
of said commissioners or a majority of them.
Bond.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the said commissioners
shall require of the contractor or contractors
bonds in double the amount of the contract for the
faithful performance of the work.
     Vacancy—
how filled.
     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That if either of the
said commissioners shall die or remove out of the county,
in which he is commissioner before the completion
of said repairs, or shall refuse to act, the commissioner
who is hereby appointed to act with him, may appoint
some other person resident of the county in
