                           CHAPTER 168.

AN ACT authorising the payment of ten dollars to
     William F. Nichols, for services rendered in the State
     Library.

6, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the Treasurer, upon the warrant
of the Comptroller, be, and he is hereby directed to pay
to William F. Nichols, the sum of ten dollars, for services
rendered in the Library.
     Authority to
pay.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.
In force.


                           CHAPTER 169.

AN ACT to authorise the Trustees of the Poor of Dorchester
     county to sell part of the real estate held by
     them.



     Passed May
6, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the trustees of the poor of Dorchester
county, or a majority of them or their successors,
be, and they are hereby authorised to sell at public
or private sale, as they may deem expedient, such
part or parts of the farm or tract of land upon which the
said poor-house is now located, and which may not in
their judgment, be required for the possession of said
poor-house, and upon the payment of the purchase
money, for the part or parts of said land sold, or upon
the purchaser or purchasers thereof, executing to the
said trustees bond or bonds with surety to be approved
by said trustees; the said trustees or their successors or
a majority of them, shall convey by a good and sufficient
     Authority to
sell.
