CHAPTER 155.
AN ACT to authorise the County Commissioners of
Washington county, to levy a sum of money for paying
the crier of the Circuit Court in said county a per
diem, and to abolish the fees of said office.

Authority to
levy.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of
Washington county are hereby directed to levy, on the
assessable property of said county, a sufficient sum to
pay to the crier of the circuit court of said county, one
dollar and fifty cents for every day the said crier shall
actually attend the sittings of said court; which per
diem shall be in lieu of all fees now allowed, and in
full compensation for the attendance and services of
said crier.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 156.
AN ACT to exempt borrowed Stoves from execution
and distress.
|

execution.
Proviso.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That any stove that may hereafter be
lent to any person in this State, shall be exempted in
the hands of the borrower, from execution and also
from distress, whether for rent or for taxes; Provided,
the borrower shall, at the time of such lending, give to
the lender a certificate or admission in writing of the
fact of such lending.

That this act shall take
effect from the passage thereof.
