CHAPTER 151.
AN ACT authorising the trustees of primary school
district number eight, in the first election district
of
Kent county, to change the site of the school house
in said district, to sell the ground whereon the present
school is located, and if deemed necessary, to
build or purchase other in lieu thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the trustees of primary school district
number eight, in the first election district of Kent
county, or a majority of them, be and they are hereby
authorised and empowered, if in their judgment it
would best advance the interest of education in said
district, to remove the school house in said district from
its present site to a location better adapted for the purpose,
or to build a new school house if necessary, and
for that purpose they are hereby authorised to sell the
land conveyed to them by Joseph Wickes and wife, by
deed bearing date the tenth day of May eighteen hundred
and forty-three, and recorded among the land
records of Kent county in liber J. N. G., number nine,
folios one hundred and forty-two and one hundred and
forty-three, and to convey the same by deed to the
purchaser or purchasers thereof, and the proceeds of
said sale to apply to the purchase of another lot,
if necessary, and the erection of a school house as
aforesaid.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the county commissioners of
Worcester county to sell a portion of the alms house
property in said county.
