counted.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That the county commissioners
shall appoint three persons to go through
district number eight, and count the number of white
children from six to twenty-one years of age, and return
under oath to the county commissioners the number of
said children in each neck, and in the whole district.

That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 150.
AN ACT to amend the charter of the Baltimore Orphan
Asylum.

Number
of
directors increased.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the number of directors of the Baltimore
Orphan Asylum be and the same is hereby increased
from nine, the number prescribed by the third
section of the act passed at November session eighteen
hundred and seven, chapter one hundred and forty-five,
to sixteen, of whom one shall be elected by the
board of directors to act as president, one as vice president,
one as treasurer and one as secretary, and that
seven directors shall constitute a quorum for the transaction
of business.

Life member.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That any person who
shall pay to the Baltimore Orphan Asylum at any one
time the sum of fifty dollars, shall become a life member
thereof, and shall be vested with all the privileges
of an annual contributor of the sum of five dollars.

That this act shall take
effect from the passage thereof.
