CHAPTER 146.
AN ACT for the relief of the President and Managers
of the High street Wharf Company, of Cambridge, in
Dorchester county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the president and managers of the
High street wharf company, be, and they are hereby
authorised to extend the wharf of said company out and
into the Choptank river so far as may be necessary to
answer fully all the purposes for which it was designed,
and may now be required for the landing place of
steamboats and other vessels and boats, at the town of
Cambridge; Provided, that nothing herein contained
shall be so construed as to allow the said company to
obstruct the navigation of said harbor of Cambridge.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the time for the
election of the managers of said company, as prescribed
by the original act incorporating the said company,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-two, chapter fifty-seven, be, and the same is
hereby changed from the first Monday of November,
to the first Monday of May in each and every year,
which said managers so elected shall proceed to elect
their president on the second Monday of May, instead
of the second Monday of November, as prescribed in
the said original act.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That all notices required
to be given, by the terms of the said original act incorporating
the said company, in the Easton papers, shall
hereafter be made by publication in a newspaper printed
in the town of Cambridge.

That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
