thereupon proceed to re-sell said road, in the manner
provided for in this act.

     SEC. 6.  And be it enacted, That the purchaser or
purchasers of the portion of said rail road rights, privileges,
powers and franchises hereby authorised to be
sold, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns,
shall be and are hereby authorised and empowered to
sell, assign and dispose of the same, to any corporation
or body politic now incorporated or hereafter to be incorporated
by the State of Pennsylvania, or by the
State of Maryland, for the purpose of re-laying the said
rail road from Chambersburg to Hagerstown, with similar
powers, franchises and objects to those expressed in
the said act of the Legislature of Pennsylvania, incorporating
the said Franklin Rail Road company, and
upon the said purchaser or purchasers, their heirs, executors,
administrators or assigns, executing and delivering
a deed therefor, (which shall be acknowledged in the
same manner as deeds conveying lands in this State,
and recorded among the land records of Washington
county,) such corporation shall be empowered to have,
hold, exercise and enjoy the said rail road and its appurtenances,
and be vested with all the rights, privileges,
powers and franchises to the said Franklin Rail
Road company, granted by the said act, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and thirty-six, chapter
seventy-nine, as fully and completely as if the said
act were re-enacted with reference to such new corporation,
and the rights, privileges, powers and franchises
thereby granted to the said Franklin Rail Road company
were by this act expressly granted to such corporation.
Power to dispose
of, to any
corporation.
     SEC. 7.  And be it enacted, That this act shall not
take effect unless it shall receive the assent of a majority
of the stockholders of said company, to be given at a
public meeting to be called for that purpose, of which
meeting twenty days previous notice shall be given by
advertisement, to be inserted once a week for three successive
weeks, in at least one of the newspapers published
in the town of Hagerstown, in the State of Maryland,
and in one of the newspapers published in the
town of Chambersburg, in the State of Pennsylvania.
Act to receive
assent of a
majority of
stockholders.
     SEC. 8.  And be it enacted, That the legislature of
this State, hereby reserves the right to alter, amend,
and repeal the provisions of this act, and to withdraw
and abrogate all the rights, privileges and franchises
vested in the said Franklin rail road, by this or any
other act or acts of Assembly of this State.
