                           CHAPTER 131.

AN ACT to provide for the custody and use of the Great
                           Seal of this State.



Passed April
18, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the Great Seal of the State of
Maryland shall be, and remain in the custody of the
Secretary of State, but under the control of the Governor
of this State, who is hereby authorised and required
to use the same, when proper or usual, in all interchanges
or intercourse between this State and the General
Government, the States and Territories of the
Union, and foreign States, and in all cases provided for
by the Constitution and by acts of Assembly.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the Governor shall
not affix or permit to be affixed the Great Seal to any
paper or instrument, without accompanying the same
with his signature.

     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That this act shall commence
and take effect on the eleventh day of March,
eighteen hundred and fifty-four.

                           CHAPTER 132.

     AN ACT relating to suits upon Constables Bonds.


Passed May
2, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That all actions hereafter to be brought
on constables bonds shall be brought within five years
after the date of said bonds, and not afterwards.
     Action—

brought.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That if any person or
persons entitled to institute suit on any such bond, shall
be, at the time of the accruing of any cause of action
on any such bond, under the age of twenty one years,
feme covert, non compos mentis or imprisoned, then
such person or persons shall be at liberty to bring his,
her or their action within five years after such impediment
removed.

in force from and after the first day of January, eighteen
hundred and fifty-four.
