An act to divorce William Alexander and Elizabeth Alexander, his wife,

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the said William Alexander, be, and he is hereby divorced
from bed, board, and mutual cohabitation with his wife Elizabeth
Alexander. |

2. And be it enacted, That the said
Elizabeth Alexander
shall not by virtue of her marriage with the said William Alexander,
be authorised to have or claim any right or interest in the
estate, real, personal or mixed, of the said William Alexander,
to be by him acquired after the passage of this act; nor shall the
said William be liable for any debts which may be contracted
by the said Elizabeth, after the passage of this act. |

CHAPTER 100.
An act to incorporate the
La Fayette Beneficial Society of Baltimore. |

WHEREAS, John Robb, Daniel Metzgar, Richard Pindell,
George Littig, John E. Stansbury, Samuel Boyd, Martin Mettee,
Abraham Parks, Joseph Perrigo, John Bandell, Ephraim
Smith, Robert Sclatter, and others, have formed themselves into
a society for the laudable purpose of affording relief to each
other and their respective families in the event of sickness, distress
and death, and have prayed an act of incorporation, that
they may the better execute their intentions: And the legislature
being desirous of promoting such useful institutions: Therefore, |

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That John Robb, Daniel Metzger, Richard Pindell, George
Littig, John E. Stansbury, Samuel Boyd, Martin Mettee,
Abraham Parks, Joseph Perrigo, John Bandell, Ephraim Smith
and Robert Sclatter, and all those who now are, or may hereafter
become members of the said society, according to the constitution
and bye-laws thereof, be, and they are hereby created
and made a corporation and body politic, forever hereafter under
the name and style of the " La Fayette Beneficial Society of
Baltimore." |

2. And be it enacted, That the officers
of said society shall
consist of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, directors,
messenger, committee of investigation and stewards; all of
whom shall be elected by ballot at the annual meeting in May,
in every year; at the same time, a majority of the members present
being necessary to constitute a choice. The society shall
also have power to appoint such other officers as may be deemed |
