Dec. Ses. 1825.

Bond authorised.

    JOSEPH KENT, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

    SEC. 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Justices of the orphans court of Harford county, or
any two of them, either in or out of court, are hereby authorized
and empowered to take the bond of the said Henry H. Johns,
as sheriff as aforesaid, and to approve of the securities, on or
before the last day of February next, in the same manner and
form as is prescribed by law; which said bond when so taken
and approved as aforesaid, and recorded according to law,
shall have the same effect, validity and operation to all intents
and purposes as if the same had been taken within the time limited
and prescribed by law.

And confirmed.     2.  And be it enacted, That all acts which the said Henry H.
Johns may do and shall have done, as sheriff aforesaid, and in
pursuance of the duties of said office, and in virtue of his election
thereto, shall be to all intents and purposes as valid and
effectual as if his bond had been executed within the period limited
and prescribed by law.

                                            CHAPTER 3.

An act for the relief of the executors, in Maryland, of William Murdock,
                                        of London, deceased.

Proviso.

    Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it
shall and may be lawful for Richard Potts and William Bradley
Tyler, executors in Maryland, of William Murdock, of London,
deceased, or the survivor of them, to lay out and invest
all legacies or sums of money bequeathed to persons under the
age of twenty one years, and directed to be invested in the
names of said executors, in stock of the United States Bank, of
any of the chartered banks of the state of Maryland, in certificates
of stock of the state of Maryland or in bonds of
individuals, well secured, or in any other manner, with a view
to the best interests of persons interested in the several trusts
reposed in said executors, that may be approved of by the orphans
court of Frederick county:  Provided, that all investments made
in pursuance of this act of assembly, shall be recommended or
approved by the orphans court of Frederick county, by order,
under the hand of the register of wills of said county, as a justification
for said executors or the survivor of them, in making
their investments.

An act incorporating the Maryland Institute, for the promotion of the
                                            Mechanic Arts.

Corporate 
powers granted.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the members of the Maryland Institute for the promotion
of the Mechanic Arts, and all those who shall hereafter
become members, shall be, and are hereby incorporated
