is hereby deprived of all claim in or to the property of James
Vissage.

    2.  And be it enacted, That the said Nancy Vissage shall be, and
she is hereby declared capable to have, hold, take, receive, sue
for and recover by compromise, suit or suits in law or equity,
property of any kind, whether real, personal, or mixed, in as
full and ample a manner as if she were a feme sole, and to
hold, use and enjoy the same for her own use and benefit; and
the same to dispose of according to her will and pleasure,
without the let, hindrance, molestation, interference or consent of
her husband, in as full and ample a manner as if she were a feme
sole; and may in her own name sue and be sued at law and in
equity in the same manner as if she were a feme sole.
    Capability
granted.
    2.  And be it enacted, That the said Nancy Vissage be, and
she hereby is declared to be entitled to the custody and guardianship
of her child during its minority, without the molestation,
let, hindrance, interference or consent of the said James
Vissage.
Guardianship.

                                            CHAPTER 41.

An act to provide for the more conformable maintenance of sick persons
                        confined in the several Jails of this state.

Passed Jan.
    1826.
    Sec. 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall be the duty
of the several sheriffs of this state, to provide such food and
other articles for the comfort of sick persons confined in the
jails of this state, as the physician appointed to attend on prisoners
in jail shall deem necessary; a list of which articles shall be
made out and signed by said physician.
    Sheriff shall
provide, &c.
    2.  And be enacted, That the sheriffs aforesaid shall be entitled
to charge their respective counties with the sum or sums of
money they may expend under the provisions of this act, and
the same shall be levied and collected in the same manner that
other county charges are now by law levied and collected.
    Compensation.

                                            CHAPTER 42.

    An act for the relief of Ann Margaret Beatty, of Washington county.

    Passed Jan.
28, 1826.
    Sec. 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the interest, authority, power and control of Samuel Beatty,
in, over, and to the person and property of Anne Margaret
Beatty, his wife, shall henceforth cease and determine; and the
said Samuel Beatty shall not be liable for any debts hereafter
contracted by the said Anne Margaret Beatty; and the said Ann
Margaret Beatty is hereby deprived of all claim in or to the
property of Samuel Beatty.
    Control and
liability annulled.
