                                            CHAPTER 176.

An act relating to the Road lately located from Sharpsburg to Hager's
                                    town, in Washington county.

    Levy court
authorised.
    Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Washington county, be, and 
they are hereby authorised and empowered to make such alterations
in the location of the new road leading from Sharpsburg
to Hager's Town, as to them may seem right and proper, and to
allow such additional damages to any person or persons who
may consider themselves aggrieved by the former proceedings
which took place in laying out the said road, as in the opinion
of the levy court they may be justly entitled to.

                                            CHAPTER 177.

An act to authorise the levy court of Frederick county, to borrow a sum
                        of money for the purposes therein mentioned.

    Authority to
borrow money.
    Sec. 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Frederick county, be, and they are hereby
authorised, should they be of opinion that the public convenience,
and accommodation would be promoted thereby, to borrow
a sum of money, the interest of which at six per cent. per
annum, shall not exceed the annual appropriation made by said
court for the repair and keeping in good condition, the road
from Frederick town to Harpers' Ferry.
    Investment
and pledge.
    2.  And be it enacted, That the sum of money herein before
authorised to be borrowed, shall be invested in the stock of the
Frederick and Harpers' Ferry Turnpike Road Company;
which stock and the interest which may accrue thereon, shall
be, and is hereby declared to be pledged and act apart for the redemption
of the loan hereby authorised to be negotiated.
    Interest provided
for.
    3.  And be it enacted, That whenever the amount raised by
loan shall have been invested as aforesaid, the levy court aforesaid
shall apply the amount heretofore paid to the overseers of
said road, to the payment of the interest on said loan; and shall
not appropriate any further sum to the repair or keeping in good
condition the said road.

                                            CHAPTER 178.

An act to provide for the purchase of the office papers formerly belonging
                    to the Surveyors' Office, of Frederick county.

    Persons appointed
to inspect
and
purchase.
    Sec. 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That major Peter Mantz, Henry Kemp and Jacob Coblintz, Esquires,
or any two of them, be, and they are hereby authorised
and appointed to inspect and purchase the said certificates of
