The Secretary of State appeared and delivered a
message from the xecutive.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
Mr. Robinson from Committee on Finance reported
favorably with proposed amendments,
Senate bill, File No. 5 entitled "An Act to appro-
priate the, sum of sixty thousand dollars or the use of
the Commissioners appointed by the Governor under
the authority conferred upon him by the Act of 1902,
to represent the State of Maryland at the St. Louis
Louisiana Purchase Exposition, to be held at St. Louis,
Missouri in the year 1904."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
At the end, of section 1, after the word "applied"
insert the following words "and that said Com mission;
be and it is hereby required out of the sum appro-
priated by this bill and herefore appropriated by
the Act of 1902, to apply not less than ten thousand,
($10,000) dollars towards the display of the Agricul-
tural Resources of the State, and not less than 'ten
thousand ($10,000) dollars towards the display of the
Horticultural and Canning Industry of the State, and
not less than ten thousand ($10,000) dollars towards
the display of the Geological Resources of the State."
Which amendment was adopted, bill read the second
time and ordered engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Robinson, from Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,
The order for the payment of $513 50, the amount
of the expenses of the inauguration of Hon. Edwin
Warfield, as, Governor of the State of Maryland.
