it to exercise the powers of condemnation prescribed,
for railroad companies under the General Laws of
Maryland, to declare and confirm its right toi cross and
re-cross with its railroad the Chesapeake and Ohio
Canal, the Potomac Valley and Potomac River, and
ratifying the action of the Board of Public Works of
Maryland in approving the plans' of said railroad com-
pany for crossing said canal, to expressly authorize it
to condemn certain parcels of land of the Chesapeake
and Ohio Canal Company lying in the northern and
southern sides of said canal, together with the ease-
ment of crossing the satne with its bridges, and rail-
road, and the easement of the right dining construc-
tion, to erect and use temporary platforms, bridges,
and other appliances in, upon, or over said canal, to
provide for transporting waste material from the north
side to the south side thereof and to give said rail-
road company other powers proper to accomplish said
objects and purposes."
Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Railroads and Canals.
