1904.] OF THE SENATE. 11
It is hardly necessary for me to say that all im-
portant measures should be formulated into bills and
offered at an early day, in order that the committees
may have ample time to examine them thoroughly
before reporting them to the Senate for its action. Let
us keep our work well up and maintain the record of
this body in not having congested files at the close of
the session.
And may the God of our fathers over rule and direct
all of our actions for His own glory and honor and for
the highest welfare of all classes of our people.
Again thanking you for the distinction you have
conferred upon me, the Chair is ready to entertain any
motion looking to the completion or the Senate's or-
ganization.
On motion of Mr. Roe, seconded by Mr. Beasman,
The address of the President was ordered spread
upon the Journal.
