38 Votes of said Joint Assembly had been cast for
the Hon. Isidor Rayner.
11 Votes of said Joint Assembly had been cast for
the Hon Bernard Carter.
5 Votes of said Joint Assembly had been cast for
the Hon. Elihu E. Jackson.
4 Votes of said Joint Assembly had been cast for the
Hon. Joshua W. Miles, and
38 Votes of said Joint Assembly had been cast for
the Hon. Louis E. McComas.
Necessary to a choice. 63, and.
Thereupon declared,
That no person had received majority of all the
votes of the Joint Assembly, and that there had been
no election of a Senator from this State to serve in the
Congress of the United States for the period of six
years from and after the 4th day of March, A. D. 1905,
to succeed the Hon. Louis E. McComas, whose term, of
office will then expire.
Whereupon,
Mr Brewing-ton moved,
That said Joint Assembly do now adjourn until
Thursday, January 21st, A. D. 1904, at 12'm.
Which motion was unanimously carried.
Whereupon,
The Chairman declared the Joint Assembly ad-
journed until Thursday, January 21st, A. D, 1904, at
12 m.

The Senators returned to the Senate Chamber and
resumed the business of the session.

On motion of Mr. Robinson,
The Senate adjourned to meet Thursday, January
