House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of St. Mary's county to levy upon the
taxable property of said county a sufficient sum of
money for the erection of a school house for .white
children in the Fourth Election District of said
county.

Which was read the second time.

House bill entitled an Act to regulate the compensa-
tion of jurors, bailiffs, cryers and messengers to the-
Circuit Court for St. Mary's and Calvert counties,

With the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out St. Mary's county whoever it appears in
the title and in the bill.

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.

Mr. Waters, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal certain sections
of the Code of Public Local Laws, Article 20, title
"Somerset County,"

With the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In line 2 of titling, between the words ' county
and," insert the words "sub-title Crisfield." In the
enacting clause, after the words "Be it enacted," in-
sert the words "By the General Assembly of Mary-
land."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.

Mr. Brown, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 18, of
the Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Mary-
land, title "Queen Anne's County," by adding a new-
sub-title thereto "Queenstown," and certain addi-
tional sections thereto under said sub-title to follow
section 218, and to be known as 218 A, 218 B, 218 C,
218 D, 218 E, 218 F and 218 G, relating to and provid-
ing for the incorporation of Queenstown.
