the Code of Public L;cal Laws, title "City of Balti
more," sub-title "Streets, Bridges and Highways,"
and to re-enact the same with amendment, requesting
this Body to recede from the amendments proposed
by it. In compliance with the request of the House

of Delegates, the Senate recedes from said amend-
ments and herewith returns said bill.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House
of Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
delivered the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay W. B. Usilton and others, for publish-
ing the Governor's Proclamation after the election,
announcing the result of the voting for and against
the Constitutional Amendments.

House bill entitled an Act to refund to Philip Funk,
of Washington county, Maryland, the sum of $20.83,
erroneously paid into the State Treasury.

House Joint Resolution tendering the thanks of the
State of Maryland, to Commander Richard I. Leary,
United States Navy, and authorizing the Governor to
procure and present to him, as a testimonial, a gold
chronometer watch, suitably inscribed.

House bill entitled an Act to secure the benefits of

ear and medical and surgical treatment to indigent,
deserving persons of this State, and to appropriate a
sum of money therefor.

Which were read the first time, and referred to the
Committee an Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 23 of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Corporations," sub-title "Insurance Depart-
ment," to be known as "Section 143."

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Corporations.
