880 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 23,

ORDER OF THE DAY.

The hour of 1 P. M. having arrived, the President
announced the Order of the Day to be the consideration
of the following Joint Resolutions:

Senate Joint Resolution requiring that the Attorney-
General of Maryland be instructed to enjoin all per-
sons from occupying and using the property of the
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company, and also to
bring the attention of the Circuit Court for Washing-
ton county to the action of the trustees now in charge of
said property, and to pray said Court to pass an order
on said trustees directing them to prevent the misuse
of the said canal property.

Senate Joint Resolution requesting the Senators and
Representatives in Congress from the State of Mary-
land to take action to prevent the extension of the
charter of the Washington and Western Maryland
Railroad Company, unless said charter shall be so
amended as to prevent said company from occupying,
using or acquiring any of the property of the Chesa-
peake and Ohio Canal Company.

Which were considered, and
On motion by Mr. Wirt,

Said resolutions were ordered to lie over.

ORDER OF THE DAY.

The hour of 1 P. M. having arrived, the President
announced the Order of the Day to be the considera-
tion of

House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 2. 5,11,
12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 20 A, 21, 28, 33 and 34, of
Article 72, cf the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Oysters,"

With the pending amendments heretofore submit-
ted by the Committee.

Which were considered, and
On motion by Mr. Poseyr

Said bill was ordered to lie over and be made the
Order of the Day far Thursday,. March 24th, at 1.30
P. M.
