748 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 17,

On motion of Mr. Gorter,
Senate printed bill No. 97, increasing the salaries of

the Judges of this State,

With the majority and minority reports,

Was considered and made the Order of the Day for

'Tuesday, March 22d, at 12.30 A, M.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
'delivered the following bills :

House bill entitled an Act to provide for the gen-
eral valuation and. assessment of property in this
State.

House bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct
the County Commissioners of Montgomery county to
levy a sum of money to refund to Samuel Riggs of
R., of said county, taxes paid in error.

House bill entitled an Act to refund to William
Davis, of Wooster county, certain taxes paid in error.

House bill entitled an Act to pay expenses incurred
in transferring insane convicts from the Maryland
Penitentiary to Insane Asylums in this State.

House bill entitled an Act for the relief of John H.
Miles, late collector of taxes for the Third Collection
District of Somerset county.

Which were severally read the first time, and re-
ferred to the Committee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to amend the Code of
Public Local Laws, Article 17, relating to roads in
Prince George's county.

House bill entitled au Act relating to the shooting
of wild fowl in Anne Arundel and Prince George's
counties.

Which were read the first time, and referred to
Messrs. Coffin, Moss and Posey.

House bill entitled an Act to enable the qualified
voters of Election District No. 13, in Frederick county,
to determine by ballot whether spirituous or fermented
liquors shall be sold in said district.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Temperance.
