Mr. Pearre submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In section 168, line 5, after the word "Act," add the
following : "And except those appointed for Allegany
county, whose compensation shall not be less than $2
per day nor more than 83.50 per day for every day
of actual services by him performed under this Act,
in the discretion of the County Commissioners of said
county."

Which was rejected.

Mr. Hayes submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In section 166, lines 24 and 25, strike out the word
"five," and insert in lieu thereof "one hundred and
sixty-four."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hayes submitted the following, proposed
amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In section 179, in line 28, strikeout the word "pen-
itentiary for not less than one year, nor more than ten
years," and insert in lieu thereof the following
words: "Jail or House of Correction for not less
than thirty days and not more than ninety days, and
a fine of not less than one hundred dollars, or not
more than five hundred dollars."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Toadvin submitted the following amendment to
the amendment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

After word "thereof," in line 28, "shall be fined not
less than 810 nor more than $500, and stand convicted
until the fine and costs are paid,"

Which was rejected.

Mr. Wirt submitted the following proposed amend-
ment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend section 179 by adding thereto "the sched-
ules herein provided for shall be returned in the
counties of the State on or before the 1st day of
April; provided the County Commissioners of any
