The Senate proceeded to the consideration of

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments to sections 1, 2, 4, 141 and 146, of
Article 81, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
'"Revenue and Taxes," and to add new sections to
said Article to be known as sections 164 to 197, both
inclusive, providing for the general valuation and
assessment of property in this State.

Which had been reported favorably from the Com-
mittee on Finance at the morning session, and its
consideration made the order for the night session.

Was considered, and,
On motion by Mr. Hayes,

Said bill was made the order at to-morrow's session,
after the reading of the Journal, as unfinished busi-
ness.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS &c.
Mr. Waters presented the following petitions:

Of 210 citizens of Somerset county, for repeal of
local oyster planting-law.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Of Daniel Webster and other citizens of Somerset
county, praying reimbursement for costs paid in de-
fending the State's right to certain natural oyster
beds in said county.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on.
