ELECTION OF SENATORS.
The hour of 12 M. having arrived, the Senate agree-
ably to the provisions of 'the Act of Congress of the
United States, entitled an Act to regulate the time
and manner of holding elections for Senators in Con-
gress, approved the 25th day of July, A. D., 1866,
proceeded by viva voce vote of each. Senator present,
to name one person for Senator in Congress from the
State of Maryland for six years from and after the 4th
day of March, 1893, to succeed the Hon. Arthur P.
Gorman, whose term will then expire, and also in the
same manner proceeded to name one person for Sen-
tor in the Congress of the United States, from the
State of Maryland, to fill the unexpired term of Hon.
Ephraim K. Wilson, deceased, which term expires on
the 4th day of March, 1897.
The Senate proceeded to the election of a person to
succeed the Hon. Arthur P. Gorman, whose term ex-
pires March 4th, 1893.
