thereto to follow section 112, and to be designated as
"Sections 112 A and 112 B. "

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Coffin, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments sections 206, 207, 220 and 237, o!
the Acts of 1890, chapter 201, entitled an Act to repeal
and re-enact certain sections of Article 17, of the Code
of Public Local Laws, entitled "Laurel, " and to add
additional sections thereto.

With the following proposed amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Insert in section 246 C, where the blank occurs, the
wore "ten. "

Amend bill relating to the town of Laurel by strik-
ing out section 3 as it appears in said Act and substi-
tute the following:

"Sections. And be it further enacted, That the sense
of the people of the town of Laurel, in respect to mak-
ing the contracts for the introduction of water and
light in said town, and the laying of the additional
taxes herein authorized, be taken by submitting the
question to the qualified voters of said town at the
regular election for Mayor and Councilmen, to be held
on the first Monday in April, in the year eighteen hun-
dred and and ninety-two, and at such election the
qualified voters, possessing the qualifications required
by section one hundred and ninety three, be and they
are hereby authorized to cast a ballot "for light, " or a
ballot "against light, " and a ballot "for water, " or a
ballot "against water, " and if the majority of the votes
cast on the proposition be for light the Mayor and
City Council of Laurel shall have the power granted
by section 246 D, and if the majority of votes cast on
the proposition be for water the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Laurel shall have all the powers granted by sec-
tion 246 C, and said sections shall be in full force and
effect. And the Mayor and City Council shall pub-
licly declare and announce the result of such election
within three days thereafter. "
