Senate bill entitled au Act to repeal and reenact
with amendments sections 98 and 102 of Article 77 of
the Code of Public Education, sub-title "Schools for
Colored Children" and "Sources of Income, " respec-
tively.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Education.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Hays, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably the following:

Ordered, That F. Ogle Winchester be employed as
assistant janitor of the Senate for this Session at a
per diem of $5. 00.

Which was read an n adopted.

Also favorably,

Ordered, That the Postmaster of the Senate be, and
he is hereby directed to furnish to each Senator, the
Secretary, Journal Clerk and Reading Clerk, with
$25. 00 worth of postage stamps and the other elected
officers of the Senate, each with $5. 00 worth of postage
stamps.

Which was read and adopted.

Also favorably,

Ordered, That the Printer furnish to the Folders of
the Senate, daily copies of the journal of the Senate
for the newspapers of the State, and that the Folders
deliver them to the Postmaster of the Senate, who will
stamp and mail one copy each day to every newspaper
in the State, with the following proposed amend-
ment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Al the conclusion of said order, add the following
words:

"That the Postmaster ascertain from each Senator
the name and postoffice address of each newspaper in
the State, to which the said journal shall be sent by
him. "

The order, as amended, was then adopted.
