Mr. Pearre submitted the following amendment to
the motion of Mr. Smith.

Add the following:

"And that the committee report the paper again to
the Senate on Thursday, at 1 o'clock. "

Which was determined in the negative.

The question recurring upon the motion of Mr.
Smith.

It was determined in the affirmative.

BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS—THIRD READING.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the proper
indexing of the Journals and volume of laws of the
General Assembly.

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and
nays, as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Brown, Pearre,
Dawson, Robinson,
Evans, Seibert,
Getty, Smith,
Gorter, Wirt,

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
Senate bill entitled an Act to require the State
Librarian to supply each Justice of the Peace in the
several counties of this State and the city of Baltimore
"with a copy of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, upon certain conditions.

Was read the third time, and rejected for want of a
constitutional majority, as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.
