CONWAY W. SAMS,

SENATE, CHAMBER,
Richmond, Va., February 20th, 1892.

Honorables Levin L. Waters, Thos. G. Hayes, Wash-
ington Wilkinson, Conway W. Sams, Robert C,
Combs, James E Ellegood, Alonzo L. Miles and
Noah C. Sterling, Members of the Joint Committee
of the Legislature of Maryland:

Dear Sirs: —At the request of the Committee on
Fish and Game of the Senate of Virginia, and the
Committee on Chesapeake and its Tributaries of the
House of Delegates of Virginia, we have the honor to
transmit to you the enclosed copy of a Joint Resolu-
tion passed by the Legislature of Virginia on the 11th
day of February, 1892, touching the Joint Resolution
passed by the Legislature of Maryland on the 22d of
January, 1892, and communicated through his Excel-
lency, the Governor of this State.

We beg to say to you that our session expires by
limitation in about ten days, and as is usual, the pres-
sure of work at this time is very heavy and has been
since the receipt of your resolution, and we fear the
Joint Conference might be unable to give the matter
the attention it deserves during the few remaining
days left to us; and we write to ask whether it would
be agreeable to you to fix upon some time during the
vacation of our respective Legislatures, and in the
ensuing summer to hold said conference. We would
then have more time to consider thoroughly the im-
portant matter to which the resolution of your Legis-
lature refers.
