On motion by Mr. Moss, it was
Ordered, That Senators Bennett and Talbott be ex-
cused, from attendance to day, on account of sickness.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
By Mr. Wirt,

Senate bill entitled an Act to add a new section to
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, to

stand as Article 16 A, of the same, under the title
"Civil Service. "

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
"Committee on Finance.

By Mr. Robinson,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 320, of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at the January Session, 1890, entitled an Act
to repeal section 188, of Article 16, of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Chancery, " sub-title

"Sales, " relating to the sale of real estate where the
personal estate is insufficient to pay the debts of the
decedents, and to re-enact the same with amendments
so as to read as follows.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

By Mr. Hepbron, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the institu-
tion of suits before Justices of the Peace in Kent
county.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re enact
section 199. of Article 15, of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Kent County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " and
to re enact the same with amendments.

Which were read the first time, and referred to Messrs.
Hepbron, Wirt and Wootton.

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate certain
sums of money to pay the claims of the Marr Con-
struction Company of Baltimore city, and the Shultz
