report of the condition and of the operations of the
'Treasury Department, for the fiscal year ended Sep-
tember 30th, 1891.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

ORDERS.
On motion by Mr. Hayes, it was

Ordered by the Senate that a Committee of three
(3) Senators be appointed to ascertain if it is possible
and advisable to restore, as to its interior arrange-
ment and construction, this Senate Chamber to the
same condition it was in on the 23rd December, 1783,
when General Washington resigned and surrendered
Ms commission to the Congress of the United States,
which was then in session in this Chamber.

And, if said Committee should find that such res-
toration is possible and advisable, then to ascertain
the probable cost of the same and report the result of
their investigation in writing at an early date to the
Senate,

The President appointed as such Committee, Messrs.
Hayes, Wirt and Rogers.

On motion by Mr. Posey, it was

Ordered, That Senator Wilkinson be excused from
attendance on to-day's session.

On motion by Mr. Getty, it was

Ordered, That the State Librarian be authorized
and instructed to furnish each Standing Committee
of the Senate with a copy of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, Vols. 1 and 2, if desired by
said committees, respectively, for use during the
present session of the Legislature.
On motion by Mr. Posey, it was

Ordered, That Senator Coffin be excused from atten-
dance upon to-day's session of the Senate.
