Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
sections 1 and 2, Acts of 1874, chapter 282.

Pending the consideration of the above bills,
On motion by Mr. Hayes,

Said bills were ordered to lie over and be printed
and made the order of the day for Thursday next,
February 18th, at 1 o'clock.

REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.

Mr. Pearre, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to encourage manufac-
tures in the city of Cumberland.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Also, favorably, „

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments sections 46, 47, 48, &c., of Article
1, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Alle-
gany County, " sub-title "Cumberland, " and add
addititonal sections thereto.

With the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

At the end of section 78 add the following: "And
in all suits upon the bonds of said water rent collec-
tor and superintendent, for any neglect of duty, or for
default in not collecting or failing to pay over after
collection by Mm any water rents placed in his hands
for collection, proof of the delivery to him of the list
of water takers shall be sufficient prima facie evidence
to entitle said Mayor and City Council to recover
judgment on said suits, "

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Posey, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to remove the county
seat of Charles county from Port Tobacco to La-Plata.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading, and
