Mr. Wirt, from a Joint Select Committee, appointed
to notify Hon. Spencer C. Jones of his election as
Treasurer, submitted the following:

REPORT:

The Joint Committee appointed by the Senate and
House of Delegates to notify Hon. Spencer C. Jones
of his election as Treasurer, respectfully report, that
they have communicated with Mr. Jones, and have
received from him the following reply:

ANNAPOLIS, MD., February 4th, 1892.
To the Honorable, the

General Assembly of Maryland:
The Joint Committee of the Senate and House of
Delegates of Maryland, having formally notified me
of my appointment by the General Assembly, as State
Treasurer for the period of two years, I take this
method of expressing my hearty appreciations of the
honor conferred upon me—with the assurance that
my best efforts shall be put forth in the discharge of
the very responsible duties of the office.
